Brief
A series of shots telling stories of Alice falling down into the rabbit hole
01 - 3D Scan & Generate Models
We took photos of everyday objects in the house including card boxes, stone lights, ancient paintings and flowers. We then cleared the models in Metashape to get a clear outline and precise shape of the object.
A. Build dense cloud
B. Build mesh
C. Build Texture
02 - Model Editing
We then cleaned the models in Metashape and uploaded them to Design Heritage MIT, where we set the size, position, and 3D coordinate system of each object. The website is for class’s usage in MIT and is now open to the public. Feel free to try it out!
03- Storyline
We designed the storyline based on the story of Alice in Wonderland. But we changed the main character to be the Minions, who are naive, impulsive creatures with little self-control to better align with the mysterious, absurd ambiance of the story. The storyline is a quite simple one, focusing on the irregularity of object change in the rabbit hole.
Objects fall from the top of the rabbit hole at different speeds with different gravities
The size of all objects change irregularly
Objects fall to the bottom of the rabbit hole, where there is a long table sitting the Minion waiting for his dinner
